Kwaku Osei Owusu Achim

In an age that is supposed to be enlightened and inclusive, a significant population of people are cut off from experiencing life in its good nature. Their voices will never be heard, their aspirations unaccounted for, and their agency reduced to the direction caregivers.

For these drowned voices and aspirations, I create.

Kwaku Osei Owusu Achim (b. 1991) is a conceptual contemporary artist based in Accra, Ghana. Inspired by the works of Jean-Michel Basiquiat & Francis Bacon, Achim focuses on the intersection between how we view our lives and how our surroundings view us. He demonstrates the communication form of sign language, encompassing his fascination with how expressions of individualism through decision-making have a trickledown effect on collective interests.
