Chidube Emmanuel (b. 1996) is a self-trained artist who lives and works in Lagos state, Nigeria. Chidube creates from observing everyday life. His work examines fleeting moments in the quotidian life observed in his immediate environment. His subject matter ranges from portraits of friends and family members to urban landscapes and occasional still-life subjects. By creating compositions characterised by a muted palette and a hazy rendering style, he aims to evoke a feeling of nostalgia. Recently, he has delved into the realms of expressionism through slight distortions of the human figure and space manipulation.
Chidube studied Biological Sciences and committed to a full-time studio practice in 2021. In under five years of professional art practice, he has featured in a few group exhibitions in Lagos State.
